Registration is closed for this event

At Royal Roads University, all we see is your silver lining. Join us to learn why.

At RRU, who you are matters as much as what you’ve done. Admissions make evaluations based on more than just transcripts, welcoming students with extensive and practical learning in the workforce and life who may have been overlooked by other institutions.

Take this opportunity to connect with faculty, staff, and alumni. Find out how our blended learning model—online with short on-campus residencies— enables you to get an education without having to quit your life.

This general information session covers a broad range of topics – please join us, and bring your questions with you. We’d like to show you how Royal Roads University is Life.Changing.

Royal Roads University brings you, Dr. Eva Malisius, Associate Professor from the School of Humanitarian Studies

"What To Do About Conflict?"
Conflict is an integral part of all human interaction. Whether at home with our families, at the workplace with colleagues or even standing in line in the grocery store - conflict happens all the time.
"In itself, conflict is neither good nor bad. It just is, "says School of Humanitarian Studies Professor Eva Malisius. "True, some conflict leads to violence and requires serious intervention. Most of the time, however, conflict is just annoying and eats away our energy and focus to engage with more important things."
Join us for a short workshop session, where Dr. Malisius explores how to change the dynamics of conflict from destructive to constructive, and how to embrace conflict to bring about change and progress.
The topics of conflict and change are common threads in many of our RRU programs. Even if the program you're interested in may seem to have nothing to do with conflict, finding work-life-study balance in addition to the course/program content, and engaging in team work (as students, as leaders or managers, within the community and at the workplace) are all aspects that will benefit from advanced skills in constructive engagement. Conflict competency will have an impact on your personal and professional life.
Dr. Malisius will lead this interactive workshop session, from which you will walk away with a sense of conflict in a different light and some easy steps to follow for engaging with conflict constructively.
