You're Invited

At Royal Roads University, we know everyone has something to share and there’s huge value in open discussions. Join us in Ottawa on Monday, March 5th for an information session and learning symposium.  This is a great opportunity to connect with current and future alumni for an engaging evening modelled on the Royal Roads learning experience.
We would like to invite you as one of our esteemed alumni and current student to share your Royal Roads experience with prospective students. If you are interested in presenting in front of an audience or speaking to prospective students one-on-one, please contact Linda Markowsky for further details.
Following this general information session, we are pleased to bring you a learning opportunity from Dr. Cheryl Heykoop, Assistant Professor, School of Leadership Studies discussing;
Igniting Change Through Systems Thinking
The world in which we live, work, and play is becoming increasing complex and multifaceted. Systems thinking offers a helpful orientation to navigate complex social systems and challenges. Systems thinking supports us to view situations and circumstances through a more holistic lens; specifically exploring the importance of connections, boundaries, and perspectives.
Join us for a short workshop session, where Dr. Heykoop explores the principles of systems thinking and how systems thinking can facilitate change in relationships, organizations, and life more generally.
Systems thinking is a common to thread in most of our RRU programs. It helps us to understand the role we play in relationships at home, work, and play; and it encourage us to consider other perspectives and possibilities. Systems thinking can help us to recognize the role we play in the status quo and what we can do to ignite change.
Dr. Heykoop will lead this interactive workshop session, from which you will walk away with a deeper understanding of systems thinking and how it can be applied to create change at home, at work, and in your life more generally.
